How Often You Should Use Your My Red Light Therapy Hat for Best Results
We recommend that you use your APEX Red Light Hat every day for the best results. It’s important to understand that like other hair loss products consistency is important. If you are thinking about using your red light hat once every other week it’s unlikely you will achieve the results you desire. This treatment should be continuous to maintain healthy hair and a healthy scalp.
Can You Overdo/ Over Use Red Light Therapy?
Yes, you can overdo your red light therapy. Doing 4 sessions of red light therapy a day instead of one which is recommended is unlikely to speed up or improve your hair regrowth. The good news is that red light therapy is very safe however over using your red light hat can cause redness and scalp irritation.
Your hair follicles respond best to regular and ongoing exposure (we recommend 15 minutes a day) not extra long sessions. Think of a plant, it grows best with regular sunlight and water but it’s important to not “drown” the plant.
What a good routine looks like

- Dry your hair or let it air dry
- Put on your APEX Red Light Hat, choose your wavelength strength (We recommend setting 3 which is the most powerful).

What happens if you miss a session?
Don’t worry, missing the odd day or session will not harm your hair regrowth results. Continue as normal the next day. Consistent and ongoing daily use is important to achieve the best results. Make your 15 minute red light session part of your daily routine (I personally enjoy the morning whilst having a coffee).
When’s the best time of day to use it?
There’s no best time in the day to use your red light hat. Using it in the morning vs using it at night will not mean better results. Again the most important thing is exposing your hair to red light for 15 minutes daily, it doesn't matter if you choose the morning or before bed.
Can I combine red light with other treatments?
Yes, you can combine other hair loss treatments with your red light therapy. In fact, from my experience, I recommend it based on my own experience and results. One of my favourite combinations is a topical finasteride and and minoxidil with red light therapy. But remember finasteride and minoxidil are both medical hair loss treatments so please do your own research.
